Since we spend so much time bitching on here, let's list some positives. What are your favorite plays this season?

Mine:

1) Hudson pass breakup/Heath INT against GT
2) Clark's seam route that split the safeties for an 80-yard TD against GT
3) Brown's 61-yard run against SMU

Honorable mention:
-Hudson's forced fumble on the opening kickoff against EKU
-Davis's deep TD passes against UNC and GT

^Hoyte's FF, but yeah that was sick.

You pretty much covered the best ones. Marcus Hudson's block on Tramain's punt return against Wake was NASTY. I'm gonna nominate Blackman's run for a TD against VT and the fake punt against VT. The run was pretty good cause he broke some tackles then outran their defense, and I had no idea what was going on during the fake punt until he was 20 yards down the field.

Was it Hoyte? My bad. The only reason it didn't make my top list was because it was against EKU.

I'd also consider Stone's bullet to the end zone against Wake.

And yeah, I forgot about the VT plays since that seems like it was so long ago now. The flea-flicker and the fake punt were beautifully executed that day.

definitely the field goal against VT when we were down 7 in the closing minutes

That let me know to look elsewhere for good football this season, so i attribute that single play to increasing my overall enjoyment of college football this year

That was probably the best-executed offensive play this season.

rallydurham, are you stupid? We've been over that sooo many times. If Hudson doesnt run into the kicker, we have 3 min. to get down the field and score a TD to win.....we almost did it in 1. It was the right call.

you must be confused

the math given in the other thread, supported my argument.

kicking the FG was a poor choice.

Funny thing is. If that play happened right now given that Amato is no longer the God he was to TWW still in September there are probably 20 threads calling for his head about a call like that.

I said it in the stands, watching SportsCenter the next day, and now. It was the wrong call..

V and for the record you can throw stats and numbers at me until you are blue in the face. Watching the way the game transpired and seeing how we were able to inconsistently move the ball yet NEVER finish a drive I felt MUCH more comfortable on trying to convert a 4th down from the 30 (or whatever) then drive 80 yards for a TD... but this has been covered BILLIONS of times so I'll leave it at that..

^^ the math that you THOUGHT was good math and supported your 'point' was actually shit and was shown as thus.

So yes, the math showed your point, but your point and the math was shown to be shit.

you were the one that was confused. and pwnt.

In any case, that wasn't the worst case of clock management this season anyway. That honor goes to completely blowing our drive at the end of the first half against UNC and failing to get any points out of it.

But that's not the point of this thread.

hey i've got an idea

in the "best wolfpack plays this season" thread, stop bitching about a play you thought was stupid

do that in the other 400 football threads

oh wait

you already have

so just stop already and let fans enjoy what their team HAS done for them this season

then just agree with me or ignore the post

dont try to say its incorrect when clearly it isnt

and it was my favorite play so it is on topic.

That thread is not a "pwn" by any stretch of the imagination.

Fact of the matter was that with a TD were are at worst tied (assuming field goal) and in much better position then with a FG and 4 point deficit. If you want to argue math: Being down by 4 points doesn't win any popular sporting event outside of golf.

It was a stupid decision and a waste of a scoring opportunity. If you can't trust your team to pick up 4-2, then how do you expect them to be able to drive and win?

Forgot about that one. I still have that highlight on my computer. He almost fucks up that play at the beginning cause he didn't look for the hole, then all of a sudden he's got nobody around him and BOOM!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Toney Baker's TD run against EKU where he ran over the safety. He just blew the guy up.

Hahahaha, yeah, that was sweet. It was great to watch Baker deliberately turn away from the open field and just run directly into (and over) the safety.

The numerous open-field, wrap-up, solo tackles by Hoyte and Tulloch this year. They don't make many memorable plays, they just tend to stop the other team from making them.
