i need to start getting about 4 shirts and 1-2 pair of pants done every week

needs to be close to campus / cheap / reliable / fast turnaround - option for delivery would be nice too

there's one on Western across the street from Food Lion (in that general area) and one on the same side as Food Lion. Don't know the name of either of them, just there locations...

sorry, but most places in raleigh that are cheap suck. and if they don't suck immediately, give them a few weeks to start putting double creases in your pants. medlin davis and hilkers = you get what you pay for. a cleaner world = hit and miss, usually staffed by "like, oh my god!" high schoolers. those dryclean city places/all-you-can-clean-for-under-$2 places also offer an amazing host of disappointments. honestly, you're better off doing some ironing on your own and paying top dollar for what absolutely must be drycleaned. fwiw.

does 'the laundry building' still outsource dry cleaning? when i was in school, you could take it there and they would send it to Master's (think that's the name...on Western). it seemed to be cheaper than other places.

brothers is good, but you will pay. they pick up and deliver, too. you can set up an account and monthly billing.

what do you tip someone for dry cleaning delivery - percentage or standard $3-5?

their delivery/pickup service doesn't cater to me that well - i need things to be picked up friday sometime and delivered back on sunday sometime - thursday night pickup @ 8-9pm would be acceptable also i guess

anyone else besides brothers?

The laundry next to Miyako does dry cleaning. Those chinese ladies clean my clothes pretty well.

Just go to brooks brothers and pick up some non-iron dress shirts. They look better than 99% of other dress shirts out there and in the first year you'll save at least the price of the shirts on drycleaning costs alone.

the cleaners next to Pearl Chinese in the Avent Ferry shopping center does a great job! I just had my business suits cleaned there. Its like $2.39 for any garment, and like $1.39 for laundered shirts. And if you take your clothes in before 8am, they'll have them back after 5pm that same day. Otherwise, they'll be back the next day after 5pm

do it yourself, it is oh so much cheaper and it looks a shit load better. Just get a can of spray on starch, figure out where you need your creases, and go at it.
I tried a few dry cleaners and absolutely hated them, I went to both cheap and expensive and they either did flimsy jobs or just screwed it up. But, i suppose it doesn't help that I'm a perfectionist.
