I think my husband and i are gonna see that tonight. What do ya think of it?

I saw it a few months ago. It is definitely an in-depth movie and the plot jumps back and forth. If you are ready for a movie that can be hard to follow at times, but with a great twist, then definitely rent it. Also, you might have to turn the brightness up on your TV because the movie is very dark nearly the whole time.

I liked it. If nothing else, it is worth renting just to see what an anorexic Batman would look like.
10/28/2005 6:16:58 PM
THIS MOVIE KICKS ASS.
10/28/2005 6:18:27 PM
One of the shittiest movies of the year.
10/28/2005 6:49:04 PM
the people that posted in the other 5 threads made about this movie saw it.but its good.
10/28/2005 6:59:01 PM
Good, but very predictable. I'd make a commentary about the film but that'd just give too much away.
10/28/2005 7:29:16 PM
Like "I liked it better when they called it Fight Club"?
10/28/2005 8:13:43 PM
it was good. rent it. worth a watch.
10/28/2005 8:47:49 PM
christian bale lost so much weight for that movie its crazy
10/28/2005 8:49:38 PM
on fresh air toady he said he was down to 121 lbs. he said his normal body weight is 185-190. and he had to screen test for Batman six weeks after completing this movie. pretty crazy.

10/28/2005 11:55:40 PM
i liked it. you could pretty much see where it was going but not exactly (they just didnt give that much away).

10/29/2005 12:29:44 PM
fight club is a comedy, the machinist is far far from it.using a similar plot device does not make one a 'rip-off' of the other
10/29/2005 12:50:40 PM
^ agreed. while watching it i didnt feel like it was a rip-off or anything. it isnt like fight club was the first to do that (im sure, i cant site anything).
10/29/2005 12:54:30 PM
^^I wouldn't say Fight Club is a "comedy"
10/29/2005 1:15:23 PM
it was decent. predictable plot twist but still somewhat enjoyable
10/29/2005 1:21:16 PM
Definitely a must see if you like your movies dark and twisty. The storyline was a bit lacking, but Bale more than made up for that with his outstanding performance. IMHO
10/29/2005 1:25:59 PM
With a user name like sessionnine, I can't help but think you're a little biased
10/29/2005 1:49:19 PM
good flick
10/29/2005 2:11:30 PM
Why would I be biased? lol

meh, it's worth seeing just to see how dedicated a guy can be to lose so much weight.as far as it relating to fight club...i disagree... but it's just liek every other psychological thriller/drama in the past few years that has an imaginary characterit's not a great twist at all. it's predictable.
10/29/2005 5:51:52 PM
so is it scary. cuz i'm about to watch it right now
12/27/2005 1:17:28 AM
12/27/2005 1:31:57 AM
Since you have been talking about Fight Club + this movie+ twist, i'm pretty sure I can guess what the twist is already. You just ruined the movie for me I've been considering renting this too, but I recently rented The Jacket, and the box descriptions sounded too similar.
12/27/2005 2:07:51 AM
the jacket wasn't nealry as good
12/27/2005 9:56:01 AM
yeh i liked it. wasn't as scary as i thought it would be.
12/27/2005 11:18:54 PM
it's not BOO scary - it's mentally & psychologically sort of scary i guess - if you put yourself into the character & imagine it's you atleastthere's not really a "twist" per se - this dude doesn't sleep for over a year supposedly - so it's obvious the kind of events which will happen to him but since the audience learns about the story as if they are living the life of this guy, yes - there will be a few twists & turns.[Edited on December 28, 2005 at 12:49 AM.
