Bush could just pardon Rove, Cheney, Libby, DeLay and Frist.

And inherit Nixon's legacy.

^^ They have to be convicted first. Neverminding, of course, that they are charged with offenses that no one serves prison time for.

i just hope that before people start criticizing pardons they take a moment to remember clinton's pardons of friends and friends of friends
10/23/2005 10:30:11 PM
He received due criticism for that. But, if Bush chooses to use his pardons for anyone mentioned at the top of this thread, you can bet it'll be a(nother) huge black mark on his presidency.[Edited on October 23, 2005 at 10:33 PM. Reason : ()]

clinton had like 200 pardons or something, bush has had about 1/10th of that. i forget exact numbers. bush said he got my back.

i just wanted to go ahead and point that out before this thread falls to party lines
10/23/2005 11:32:33 PM
sure why notamerica has a short memory
10/23/2005 11:37:23 PM
^Agreed. If something goes down with Rove, etc, folks will have forgotten about it by Fall '06 if it's a quick trial.

Neverminding
10/25/2005 3:34:53 PM
how much of a badass would you have to be to be pardoned twice... by different presidents?
10/25/2005 3:40:01 PM
10/25/2005 7:30:24 PM
BS there was a bunch of shit about it... i remember repeatedly seeing his face as he sat there signing stuff in connection with pardons. they seemed to use the same clip over and over again, and kept saying last minute pardons and such.
10/25/2005 7:34:51 PM
yea. and.can you imagine the abject HYSTERIA the media would descend into if bush pardoned anyone in his administration, much less libby?
10/25/2005 7:49:33 PM
if i was him, i'd pardon whoever the hell i want and tell everyone who doesn't like it to suck it.not like he's up for reelection.
10/25/2005 7:52:26 PM
Not like he gives a crap anymore, either
10/25/2005 7:55:24 PM
of course he would get hell.. and im sure he will when he does exactly what clinton did and do it on the last day. but i dont see how thats any different from what they " the media" did to clinton when he did the same damn thing.
10/25/2005 8:00:46 PM
wait and see.until then, why don't you review the amount of hell MSLM has given to robert byrd's past vs. trent lott's relatively innocuous statementbut i mean, if that's too painful, we can just play the waiting game, assuming bush has the moral deficit necessary to actually give out those pardons like clinton
10/25/2005 8:16:48 PM
its not like robert byrd is our beacon of a good politician, at least not mine. i mean shit are you telling me that everyone on your "side" you would agree with at all costs? if you would then we can quit talking now. i def. lean democratic, but i dont consider my self democratic. infact i agree with many of the things that bush does economically. maybe with the exception of the tax cut, i have agreed with him. i hate it when people point out one wacko and assume he represents the entire view and if im not mistaken, i dont want to do any research on this now, wasnt he the former KKK member. shit for that reason alone that guy shouldnt be in office...
