whats the easiest way to do this? mounting the amp in the trunk, stock head unit, minimal invasion to the vehicle. 2001 honda civic. i was thinking either find a key hot under the hood that i could run back with the power wire, or do a switch, but turning a switch on and off all the time would be a pain in the ass. plus a dead battery if i forget.you cant run one off a speaker lead can you?

does the vehicle have a power antenna? if not i would just go off the ignition hot wire at the back of the head unit, that way if you ever put an aftermarket one in there, you have the rtl right there to hook up correctly

if the car has a power antenna, you should definately splice it to that.

How are you getting the signal to the amp? If you are using speaker level inputs there are several adapters, that is from speaker level to RCA level, that have a turn lead that is activated when there is signal present.

interesting. i already ran the turn on lead from the head unit to the trunk.im using speaker level inputs, but amp has built in, not using a line converter.
