"It's french, bitch"Who saw it? I recorded it, and I'll be seeing it tonight. There's a thread in the soap box, but I figured since it's a tv show...

hoping they'll create a place on torrentspy for it. they're almost 2 weeks behind on "The Office" though, so not holding out much hope.....(ps i'm in Germany - that's about the only way to keep up with good shows here)
10/18/2005 8:59:23 AM

overall, I thought it was funnyyou could tell he was a little nervous b/c he's stumble over his words a bitmy favorite part was the end when he and Stone Phillips were having an "anchor-off"
10/18/2005 12:07:14 PM
Yeah, the "gravitas" bit was my favorite part. Not bad for a first episode. I still think the interview portion should be done differently.
10/18/2005 12:08:39 PM
the part about your nerve endings in your gut and your brain and looking it up was priceless
10/18/2005 12:28:43 PM
I want a video clip of the gravitas segment. Someone should find it and post it for me.

10/18/2005 10:13:53 PM
I love him on the Daily Show...but if every episode is going to be centered on just how smarmy he can act, I don't see this show lasting long.
10/18/2005 11:31:55 PM
daily show 2, more liberal propaganda
10/18/2005 11:45:21 PM
ahahahaGeorgia On My Mind is my favorite Jamie Foxx song.
10/18/2005 11:55:05 PM
Tonight's episode was an improvementMy favorite part is the O'Rielly-esque "talking points" on the side of the screen.

Colbert Report is all of the aspects of the Daily Show that I didn't need to see spun off.I'll continue to change the channel at 11:30pm to PBS and get the best interviews on tv from Charlie Rose.
10/19/2005 12:36:01 PM
i missed the first night but last night was HILARIOUS"Get to Know Your District!" LOL
10/19/2005 1:04:35 PM
I don't see much difference between it and The Daily Show. I'll watch them if they are on, but nothing to make a special time slot for.

i love how the guest is already sitting at the table across the set and colbert gets up to walk over to him/her.good stuff

the mad money guy interview was great. fuckin' eagle. CAW.
10/20/2005 11:57:22 PM
I thought that sucked.I noticed that on his first show you couldn't see the guest when he first runs over. They changed that real quick.
10/21/2005 12:03:58 AM
i think YOU suck.
10/21/2005 12:04:20 AM
It was OK. The show's pretty funny, but I keep trying to compare it to The Daily Show, and it keeps coming up short.
10/21/2005 12:05:54 AM
yup, it keeps coming up short. Besides, how many Daily Shows do we need?
10/21/2005 12:34:14 AM
I felt the same way. I was actually hoping CC would only do the CR about two nights a week. Does the CR have the same writers as the DS?
10/21/2005 12:40:07 AM
I agree. I don't think they can handle having one every weeknight.
10/21/2005 12:50:29 AM
its like one giant long run on sentence with joke after joke of unfunny
10/21/2005 4:03:12 AM
the WORD was fucking funny againthe show is gold
10/21/2005 6:18:59 AM
he needs to get familiar with his show. he seems very nervous. i don't like it as much as the daily show but it's a close 2nd.
10/21/2005 6:43:43 AM
you cant succesfully run a spoof of someone else's show EVERY weeknight. eventually the jokes run out and get old.His show is better suited to a SNL extended skit, or a weekly show. Colbert better start developing his own style beyond mocking O'Reilly or he'll be canceled in no time.[Edited on October 21, 2005 at 8:22 AM. Reason : s]
10/21/2005 8:20:27 AM
The Word is also very similar to Kevin Nealon's "Mr. Subliminal"
10/21/2005 8:35:46 AM
"Dirt?" had me rolling in the word.
10/21/2005 10:02:02 AM
Yeah, the word is easily the best part of his show.
