Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of SPSS? Circuit City and Staples (and like) don't carry it, and the people have never even heard of it so obviously they were no help!

I can't buy it at from NC State b/c I am not a student and they told me when I called that I had to attend a NC public school to buy it there and i do not (i'm at Peace)...so...I'll try to get it from efollet.com or something. It's for research (psychology). I need it for data sets and analysis, etc. b/c i'm conducting my own research this semester (and prob. in graduate school as well). We dont' use SAS (never heard of it).And I didn't go to circuit city or staples to buy it, I called them to see if they carried it or even knew what it was.

you could just get someone to buy it for you at the ncsu bookstore... they don't really care. it's just that when you're honest, they have to do what the university and state policy tells them

Statistical software is really expensive and highly specialized ... typically won't find it at a consumer outlet of any sort, nor will they know anything about it. I would seriously see if you can't find someway (legally) to obtain it from another university, i.e. enroll for a semester or two. Otherwise, 1) Use a public computer; 2) Ask your advisor to buy the software; 3) Learn to use R (http://cran.r-project.org/).
