So, is it really bad if I use 89 octane fuel instead of the recommended 87 octane even if it reduces the knocking a little?

I read on one site (and only one) that using a higher grade fuel could damage the catalytic converter. Is there a reason I see increased performance?

You are a genuine pain in the ass.
10/13/2005 12:27:25 PM
Thanks for sharing your automotive knowledge.

Oh my bad. You should mix your 87 octane with diesel fuel, 2:1 ratio, but don't go any higher than that or the knocking might get worse. That'll help stop the knocking. Seriously.

ha haSTFU

pwnt does not lie.quit trying to act like anyone cares, tho. this aint chit chat, and we didnt miss you.

I missed the memo about ignoring douchebags in the Garage.I ask a genuine question and you both fail to prove anything beyond your reliance on stupid antics.
10/13/2005 12:44:05 PM
i answered your question, so STFU already.
10/13/2005 12:50:43 PM
I think it's more along the lines that we both despise your existence. You are definitely a tool, but not the kind of tool one would find in the garage.
10/13/2005 12:52:42 PM
What're you gonna do about it?
10/13/2005 12:53:50 PM
whatever, tuff guy.
10/13/2005 12:55:06 PM
You're kidding, right?
10/13/2005 12:55:19 PM
no, it doesn't hurt anything. it's actually the opposite, very low octane gas can hurt the converter (like 85 and below) as will leaded gas (which is basically non existant in the mainstream market).

10/13/2005 1:38:55 PM
you should run the lowest octane rating gas your engine can handle without knocking.
10/13/2005 2:28:54 PM
how do you know it's knocking? On 87 that is [Edited on October 13, 2005 at 2:43 PM. Reason : 87]
10/13/2005 2:42:52 PM
since when did camels run off gas! ohh we back! thanks sparky
10/13/2005 2:43:39 PM
gargs you just need to put the 87 octane in you flux capacitor resevior, and the 89 octane in your regular fuel tank, then when you fit 88 mph the knocking will stop
10/13/2005 4:31:16 PM
oh godnow gargs is going to be wandering in here with random "serious" car questionsthinking he's pissing someone off by doing ithave fun little guy
10/13/2005 4:36:16 PM
you need to replace your mandible sensor
10/14/2005 5:16:33 PM
diesel fuel will reduce the knock even better. put a full tank in if you use 89 > 87. if you need 89 use it i put 87 in mine, and it runs fine. if it runs fine, put whatever in. end of story
10/14/2005 5:21:39 PM
^ Your response is so damn incoherant that I can tell who you're talkind shit to. lol
10/14/2005 5:39:12 PM
