The timing seems about right for a new Coen Brothers thread. Next Tuesday the Big Lebowski collector's edition and 'achiever edition' come out, as well as a Coen Brothers box set with "Blood Simple", "The Big Lebowski", "The Man Who Wasn't There", and "Intolerable Cruelty" (not sure why in the hell that last one is in there). Plus, the Coens have announced their next two films. "Hail Caesar", a comedy about '1920's theater troupe stages a production of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar"' (IMDB), is in pre-production now, and George Clooney is supposedly going to play the lead. They also just recently announced that they are going to direct "No Country for Old Men", which will be an adaptation of the book by Cormac McCarthy. IMDB has "Hail Caesar" listed as 2006, and "No Country for Old Men" listed as 2007, but there's really no way to know anything at this point. Perhaps they can return to their old form.

I still haven't seen The Ladykillers, Intolerable Cruelty (not a huge desire to watch those first two), and The Man Who Wasn't There, and I've only seen a small part of O Brother, Where Art Thou?As for the others, though, they are all great, but my personal preference is:1) Miller's Crossing2) The Big Lebowski3) The Hudsucker Proxy4) Blood Simple5) Raising Arizona6) Fargo7) Barton Fink

Blood Simple was a dumb movie. The only notable thing about it is that they made it in Texas so they could hire a non-union film crew. The others were pretty good though.
