anyone know of any packaged software that is capable of emulating a remote control or be able to control anything that has a infrared module. This is just going to be a toy so nothing over $30

I know there is software for Pocket PCs that turn your PDA into a universal remote control. I don't remember what it's called or if if you even have a ppc pda tho.

yea there are several PPC based ones that use the built in IR port or an attached module.

there was one that was free and pretty good. But i can't remember the name of it.

It allowed auto programming if you had an already programmed remote handy.

Google might find you one for a desktop if you aren't using a PPC
