Just wondering, it seems like their have been some good opportunities lately and I was thinking about looking into it a little more (sales). Any idea what the base pay and commission structure is at different places? I am qualified for most of the sales/manager trainee positions, and it seems like you could make some good cash. Is it something to look into further?

they all pay different. Most of your money will come from comission. You gotta sell 10-20 cars a mont to make GOOD cash.

3 cars a week and you'll be straight

By GOOD cash I'm talking maybe 50,000 a year before taxes, that's more than enough to pay the bills and allow for some fun. Is it possible to just start out and make more than that, say selling Hondas or Toyotas?

I'm sure if you could sell a ton of cars at the right place, sure...but that kind of money would probably involve you busting ass and being damn good at your job

I think I may be the only person on here that actually does sell cars. Generally most dealerships pay on 100% comission. Pay plans do vary from dealer to dealer depending on markup and average volume. You have to sell alot less at a lexus dealer than at a toyota dealer to make the same money, at the same time its harder to sell a large number at lexus as it does at toyota. All that being said there is good money in the car business, you just have to bust your ass and be good at it. By bust your ass I mean 60-80 hour work weeks for a good time to come.
