10/4/2005 8:35:42 PM

a dr. a day keeps the apples away
10/4/2005 9:15:42 PM
hell the intake of the LS1's are a type of plastic too, lol
10/4/2005 9:44:53 PM
and the NA 3800s
10/4/2005 9:46:48 PM
at least the chevrolet part will cost less than its comprible (sp) japanese part
10/4/2005 9:51:46 PM
10/4/2005 10:45:23 PM
Chevrolet makes some junk
10/4/2005 11:01:51 PM
ehh, drivetrain wise theyre making some pretty decent shit...as far as everything else is concerned, cheap ass plastic radio bezels that don't fit right on a $50K car, plastic radiators, and a cheap ass excuse for leather seats is pretty ri-goddamn-diculous
10/4/2005 11:13:36 PM
I still love america.
10/4/2005 11:28:41 PM
well, yeah
10/4/2005 11:31:07 PM
my 2001 cavalier had some annoying electrical problems, at 40,000 milesmuch better than my mom's old Kia though.
10/4/2005 11:37:05 PM
my little sisters lumina sucks bad, whenever i see it, i want to set it on fire and dance around it
10/5/2005 12:37:52 AM
id say chevy is better than ford though quality wise
10/5/2005 12:43:14 AM
I rode in a brand new Impala today. I was not very impressed with the quality of the interior, and the seats felt kinda funky. That said...I replaced a Toyota radiator yesterday. In my dad's T100 truck. Guess who made the original? You got it. Harrison. As in GM. plastic end tanks on aluminum. The aftermarket one was all brass. w00t...
10/5/2005 12:49:22 AM
id rather drive a ford any day of the week
10/5/2005 2:32:52 AM
why?some of ford's products are better, some of chevy's are better....theyre really pretty equal when you get over the "oh i want to be a redneck and decide one is better than the other" concept that most people around here seem to have
10/5/2005 2:35:13 AM
well in my personal experience i just like fords better.Id rather work on a ford, id rather drive a ford, and i like the way fords run betteri dont really have a specific reason, i just like em better
10/5/2005 2:47:37 AM
Other than the Corvette or Mustang, neither company makes anything I'd want to buy currently. Maybe if Chevy would ever move the Monte Carlo back onto an RWD platform, or if Ford gave the Crown Vic an engine with some balls (think a Ford variant of the Mercury Marauder)...but not currently.
10/5/2005 12:06:37 PM
yeah... they haven't figured out that people like rwd cars they just drive nicer than fwd that ford 500 is cool in the awd package but needs more power the lincoln ls is really a fun car to drive though... they should make a ford version
10/5/2005 12:27:37 PM
10/5/2005 12:37:26 PM
They have a few problems.1. they are all ugly except some munstang, gto, and vettes.2. the interiors blow except GTO.3. most have shitty engines except a few
10/5/2005 12:50:11 PM
^^^^you should drive the CTS.
10/5/2005 1:09:43 PM
I've always hated GM's seats. I find them unsupportive and made of uncomfortable fabrics. My sister's Altima has pretty good seats for a family sedan. Ford and GM have shitty leather too compared to like BMW or Lexus.
10/5/2005 1:17:03 PM
When I was at the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro over the weekend, I sat in a 300C SRT-8--that car had some freaking comfortable seats. Very supportive, but also pliant and soft in the right places. I was impressed. Took one of the "standard" 300C's out for a quick test drive, felt good but the route was so short that I didn't get a chance to open it up. Steering was a little numb for what I would have expected.Basically, though, it does seem like Chrysler had Ford/GM beat pretty handily right now in terms of appealing products. To whoever made the comment about the Lincoln LS, that is a good platform. Ford was actually considering using a shortened version of that platform for the Mustang, but decided to go from scratch. Unfortunately, after the LS goes out of production, I don't think there are any future plans for it. (Though I think it may also be used for the Jag S-Type, not sure how that might factor in...)Oh, and they had a Chyrsler Firepower concept on display at the CCG--that thing was FREAKING GORGEOUS. They really, really need to build it. Wow.
10/5/2005 1:25:45 PM
well the good thing about the plastic parts on the radiator is that when those shitty hose clamps are turned around (Not the screw type, the pinch type clamps) and you cant get the things off, I got a prybar and just broke off the plastic inlet to get the hose off so does anyone know someone that wants to buy a 91 camaro RS, 305 TBI with a brand new radiator. New intake manifold gasket, new 02 sensor, plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, fresh oil change, flowmasters, lowered about 2" s, PST front end suspension and still in good shape. Its time i get a new car, i need to get another mustang[Edited on October 5, 2005 at 1:46 PM. Reason : ]
10/5/2005 1:44:47 PM
^^well of course chrysler quality is surpassing ford and gm, they're building all their new cars on previous generation Mercedes-Benz platforms, lol.
10/5/2005 1:50:33 PM
305? I bet that thing runs 16's...
10/5/2005 2:58:01 PM
^^Yeah, they do have a nice place to start from, but I don't know how much M-B influence is in the Hemi, or the interior/exterior styling. Either way, they're doing it right currently. I'm interested to see what the replacements for the Sebring/Stratus and Neon in the pipeline will be like.
10/5/2005 3:06:04 PM
Pretty much all new radiators are plastic - or at least the hose attatchment points are, and thus that's the main failure point... they're also generally inexpensive to replace. There are many other complaints I could make about the one GM car ('86 Olds Cutlass Ciera) in my past. The one GM truck ('90 GMC Jimmy 2dr) was surprisingly good however.
10/5/2005 3:10:43 PM
everything is plastic fuckers.
10/5/2005 4:28:34 PM
10/5/2005 4:35:06 PM
so i should expect [shitty] leather on a GM car even though it costs more than some BMW's and Lexus's...? Good job by GM in actually pulling that off[Edited on October 5, 2005 at 4:56 PM. Reason : shitty]
10/5/2005 4:56:28 PM
10/5/2005 6:46:12 PM
10/5/2005 6:56:14 PM
that is true...but they could definetly use something that didnt feel like plastic and didnt rip/wear out after 50k miles, sure it would have costed a little more but hardly substantial imo. mine have held up pretty good but only because the previous owner was like 120lbs, the driver side one is starting to rip now
10/5/2005 6:59:04 PM
My parents Saturn L-Series has some PLUSH leather. Its a lot better than the leather in my Camaro.
10/5/2005 8:09:36 PM
173,000 miles on my silverado and still going strong, no drivetrain failures yet, not even a water pump
10/5/2005 9:49:49 PM
The leather in my Lincoln is nice stuff, still in good shape at nine years old. Of course, the car does have only 57K on it, but still...
10/5/2005 11:20:54 PM
10/5/2005 11:56:46 PM
i bet it wasnt
10/6/2005 12:15:01 AM
k
10/6/2005 12:15:18 AM
lol
10/6/2005 1:14:19 AM
i like my chevrolet.it stopped me from working on other cars.
10/6/2005 10:50:51 PM
I like your truck now, not so much the way it came.
10/6/2005 11:09:13 PM
we have a chrysler 300m car, a dodge diesel truck, a lincoln my toyota a z71 buick and ford all around here that we drive along with my old classics and i would say the leather in the lincoln is the nicest and best feeling as far as feel goes...comfort wise i really really like it in my MR2, i completely hate the chevy leatheras far as drive trains the chrysler is by far the most reliable next to the toyota out of them all, neither have we had any troubles with anything, the lincoln is probably the worst in terms of reliance followed by the z71 and then the ford...as for the diesel, baby has 200,000 miles on it (used to pull horses to shows and races) and that sucker is still as strong and as reliant as the day we got it, only thing i dont like about it is in the design of the interior...just not as classy looking...o well it does its jobconsidering doin the benz diesel conversion on an old benz we have found, not sure if we will or not yet though
10/7/2005 1:54:27 PM
How old is that 300M? The LH-based Chryslers were never known for their reliablity.
