Replace it?Or read manual to see how you can test your current one.

yeah, its a pretty cut and dry good or bad. there is a certain resistance across two of the terminals and if it is not correct then you have to replace it. look it up

i'd clean it with some carb cleaner first... might be a cheap fix$.79/can
9/30/2005 11:45:11 AM
would throttle body cleaner be safer?or how about electrical contact cleaner.

electrical contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol are best to clean the hot wire elements in the MAF. What vehicle this is on might make a difference as to whether or not it can be cleaned.[Edited on September 30, 2005 at 1:23 PM. Reason : ]

it is also very easy to destroy those tiny little wires with a high pressure spray

i suggest going to the quarter wash and hitting it with the high power soap spray!
10/1/2005 12:36:55 AM

10/1/2005 11:34:56 PM

10/2/2005 12:17:57 AM

i had a problem with that (I believe- it's been a while) with my integra... i never figured out what to do before i wrecked itoh, and I tried alot of stuff, including replacing it itself- it ended up (combined with something else) giving me reaaaaally funny idling problems (Like reving up to 5k rpm and then dropping down to almost stalling when I wasn't on the gas- haha got a lot of people thinking I wanted to race them)[Edited on October 3, 2005 at 9:24 AM. if you can determine that the part is the problem, i believe honda won't have a problem replacing it.unless your reciept says otherwise.

on the f-body i was told you needed an o-scope to see if it was actually working...but oh well, it can't be that expensive to just replace the damn thing on his car lol

10/7/2005 7:00:14 PM
it was from a mod on the damn camaro forum asshole, he knew what he was talking about. sure you can see if its getting voltage, but the actual output was a wave that was best looked at with a 'scope. its not worth fucking with if you dont have one already, this guy obviously has no f'ing clue about his car anyways so he should replace the thing and be done with it or take it to somebody to fix
