I don't agree with the current policies of Affirmative Action , because I do not understand why color should be a factor, since minorities come from all different kinds of classes, both rich and poor. I also don't understand why if AA admissions in colleges is based solely upon the color of one skin, then why aren't asians and Indians(from India) given the same policies as blacks, Hispanics, and native americans? Its because those AA people believed that African Americans and Hispanics need to be spooned fed in academic admissions more so than Asians and Indians because they believe asians and Indians are more capable academic achievers than hispanics , blacks and native americans. Their was a dinner held exclusively for minorities(that is , blacks and hispanics) for just achieving a 3.0 in colleges. Now I personally , being in that category, would not want that kind of treatment. Now I believed Affirmative Action should still be a factor in college admissions, only their should be drastic changes. I think instead of race being a factor in college admissions, class should be a factor. For instant, if their were two people who received met the same requirements for that particular college, one being dirt poor and the other being affluent wealthy , I think the person be dirt poor should be admitted in, considering the disavantages that person has compared to his counterpart applicant. Your opinions?

https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/30/politics/harvard-justice-department-affirmative-action-asian-americans-lawsuit/index.htmlIt’s interesting the Justice dept doesn’t want a private college to use race to determine who to serve, but they want a baker to be able to refuse service to gays.I haven’t looked into the details of the Harvard case but I don’t see why in general Harvard shouldn’t be able to use race as a factor, just like state colleges give preference to people from poor school districts. I would like to see schools end legacy admission policies though, Harvard admits more white people as legacies than they do people given preference under affirmative action1 in 5 white students are legacy admits at Harvardhttps://www.thecrimson.com/article/2018/6/20/admissions-docs-legacy/
