My Firefox browser won't open up. Instead it gives me this error message:

"The program must close to allow a previous installation attempt to complete. Please restart."

I'm thinking that it tried to download some updates without me knowing and I closed it by accident when it was installing. How can I fix this to get my beloved Firefox back?

your profile folder should probably be unharmed

just open internet explorer, download the latest version of firefox, double click, follow installation instructions, open firefox, done
