Quick solution for TWW: You make it an average of those who submit ratings.

Slashdot does moderations, where x number of people go through the site every day, and mod things up or down as they see fit. Then some time later another set of people, metamoderators, go back through and moderate the moderators...they rate the rating that the original person gave the post.

ratings will be high. somebody who doesnt like the thread probably wont go in it at all.

like a 1 to 5 rating, therefore when you view the list of threads you can see which threads people like the most, or find the most interesting.... i just get tired of reading every thread.... some people don't have meaningful titles to their threads but the thread might be more interesting than the title... so like you would have...

At B-Boys, we used this feature for a while. It shuffled the highest ratings to the top. The problem was getting people to rate stuff.

or you could rate it by the number of "sucks" and "stupid" etc in it.
