where will the people who go to astrodome by plan go? this country couldnt survive another major hurricane

this country couldthose people might not

Yeah, I've been wanting to know since they moved a lot of the evacuees to Houston. If Houston is evacuated, or opens shelters, would they keep those in the Astrodome there, or move them out and put residents of Houston in there? Also, since it's Texas, how long will it take Bush to visit that area?
9/20/2005 8:58:14 AM
Most likely move them. It isn't like there isn't a large stadium in most US cities. The nations sports teams saw to that.
9/20/2005 9:50:19 AM
From what I heard yesterday, the Astrodome is almost cleared out. They've moved most of the people into long term housing already and the ones who haven't yet they are going to put in hotels until they can find a more permanent solution for them.

Maybe Bush should apologize in advance and hand out debit cards to everyone in Texas. Karl Rove must have some genius plan worked out, since the LBJ speech was a disaster in and of itself.
9/20/2005 12:32:26 PM
bush should ask kerry to be co-president just so he can take care of this hurricane.

you know where else people could livehotelsi mean, its not like every week in some major city there is proof that there are cities fully prepared to handle an extra 50,000-100,000 people
9/20/2005 2:25:56 PM
the hotel owners will have to be paid. hotels would give our deficit another trillion. what if bush has to be rescued from his flooded ranch.
9/20/2005 4:40:57 PM
yes, clearly the hotel industry is a TRILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS in each major cityseriouslyhave you folks never seen a conference where over 50,000 people pack into an areahell, new orleans was gearing up for conference season]
9/20/2005 4:41:51 PM
Put the people in shelters, homeless shelters abound the country, and they largely go unused during the summer.
9/20/2005 5:51:15 PM
^ oh dear, I would love to hear the liberal backlash at dubya doing that...
9/21/2005 11:04:18 AM
Well it sounds like these people are marked. I am sure Pat Robertson and Co. will have some biblical explanation for why we were hit by yet another major hurricane. Maybe he would like it if we sent them to live with Hugo Chavez. That would solve three of his problems. Some blacks, some poor, and Chavez.

9/21/2005 1:02:10 PM

9/21/2005 4:13:06 PM

9/21/2005 4:14:50 PM
George W. Bush made a statement to the national media tonight about the impending hurricane. He said:"Rita, I am only going to warn you once. Don't mess with Texas."
9/21/2005 8:19:10 PM
