Nintendo's revolutionary controller, along with the actual specs of the system itself, and possibly some footage of the new revolutionary mario game code-named Mario 128, is speculated to be revealed tonight at the Tokyo Game Show. They will put Sony and M$ to shame.

lets hope sogonna be tough
9/15/2005 12:54:58 PM
Yeah Nintendo's been putting people to shame for last ten years.
9/15/2005 2:15:41 PM
oh great 128 bit pokemon and mario party
9/15/2005 2:17:09 PM
The only people Nintendo has put to shame are its stockholders and employees.
9/15/2005 2:17:16 PM
Nintendo games are the best
9/15/2005 2:17:42 PM
oh yea Yoshi's cookie really embarassed the hell out of Halo
9/15/2005 2:18:15 PM
Halo is Quake redefined
9/15/2005 2:18:48 PM
you are my stereotypes redefined
9/15/2005 2:22:50 PM
9/15/2005 2:24:59 PM
yah no matter how advanced the technology is it still doesn't make a difference because nintendo is still generally marketed to the younger audience.

Supposedly Nintendo's challenging its internal development teams to come up with a new franchise on the Revolution. No matter how good it is, I bet anything it'll be some happy game that the average American male wouldn't give a second look. It's OK, this fall I can FINALLY play a Mario soccer game.
9/15/2005 2:30:00 PM
Double Dash was good
9/15/2005 2:31:40 PM
Yoshi's Cookie was released in 1993 for the SNES, the NES, and the Game Boy.[Edited on September 15, 2005 at 2:33 PM. Reason : But I think Axl is talking about the one on that GameCube puzzle collection.]

Don't care what anyone thinks...I buy nintendo systems just so I can play the franchise games: Zelda, Metroid...etc. Fringe benefits like RE4, Tales of Symphonia...etc. just make it that much nicer to have. That being said, yes it is nice to have a PS2 to play semi-decent RPG's and have an XBox for semi-decent first person shooters.oh and pwnt so sour:
9/15/2005 2:43:49 PM
did you seriously just bust on halo and bring up goldeneye in the same breath
9/15/2005 2:44:06 PM
^I agree with the goldeneye comment
9/15/2005 2:44:54 PM
the metroid games ruled..as did re4.and ssbmand zeldathere's plenty of good nintendo games
9/15/2005 2:45:46 PM
I just wanna see a new mario game like Mario 64 blended with Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World.Mario Sunshine had it's moments but just wasn't my idea of fun in the long haul...i don't understand why they didn't eventually put out a proper sequel to mario 64 for the gamecube...
9/15/2005 2:47:31 PM
9/15/2005 2:51:50 PM
btw Marko I think a 3-D revision of Super Mario Brothers 3 would be excellent.
9/15/2005 2:52:20 PM
Nintendo has had consistently high quality in their games, but the problem is just that their audience is much smaller because over the years they've managed to paint themselves into a corner as far as their image goes. They're known as the cartoonish, happy friendly game company, and right now it would take a hell of a lot of Resident Evil 4's to break that mold and garner new fans that detract from Sony and MS's bases.

I'm interested to see what Nintendo has to offer. However, I do not think it will change any opinions. Nintendo fans will rave about it, b/c they are the most loyal of all console owners. They like the games like mario, metroid, zelda, etc...PS2 and XBox fans will continue to not like it, b/c they aren't into that stuff and like what the other systems have to offer. I don't even think Nintendo is TRYING to sway any XBox or Sony fans. Their main audience tonight will be those who are loyal to Nintendo and will probably buy the system no matter what.
9/15/2005 3:16:53 PM
^^ I should also note that I only played Halo and goldeney multiplayer with any time involved. Single player halo got redundant waaaay to fast, though I got into watching Halo 2 single player.[Edited on September 15, 2005 at 3:17 PM. Reason : *]
9/15/2005 3:16:56 PM
^^I think Nintendo is also trying to target some old school gamers too with the backwards compatibility.
9/15/2005 3:20:26 PM
jegaines, where did you hear this? It's just speculation on the internet. I would've put "speculated" in the title, but there wasn't enough room.
9/15/2005 3:42:08 PM
GC sold around 18 million. Xbox is around 20 million. PS2 is around 90 million.I don't think M$ is owning anybody. And it's possible GC might end up being the number 2 console this gen, since M$ is cutting Xbox's life short. Last console to step in, First console to step out.

halo/xbox's ability to run games over the lan was what i loved. sure you could do it on a computer, but i find a lot of small issues with pc's that you wont have with 4 connected xboxs.1) comp speed differences causing lag and whatnot2) having to cram everyone into one room or rely on mics for teams. having 4 in each room was a nice way to do it.i enjoyed goldeneye for a long while, but halo was great too. i personally wouldnt compare them (UT or quake would be better since halo has much more of a comp game feel to it)ALL OF THAT SAID:i usually get multiple systems so i dont do all this petty shit, but xbox was my fav last time around. nintendo always has room in my heart and the DS is fun. ps2 was last cuz i just dont care about rpgs or platformers enough.so....im intrigued to see whats so revolutionary and how my DS will fit in with it, though it'll be tough to beat the killzone demo on ps3, geez.[Edited on September 15, 2005 at 5:45 PM. mario has sucked ass since it turned 3D
9/15/2005 5:55:09 PM
No it hasn't
9/15/2005 5:57:45 PM
Mario 64 was amazing when it came out, especially since it brought alot of us into the 3D world. Mario Sunshine was meh... and Luigi's Mansion doesn't count...
9/15/2005 6:00:33 PM
zelda games are my fav.
9/15/2005 6:24:15 PM
i loved the format of mario 64 with small/med levels with various goals.
9/15/2005 6:24:27 PM
So what is the announcement tonight then? When you said tonight did you mean tonight in Tokyo?
9/15/2005 10:37:07 PM
Satoru Iwata (president of Nintendo) is giving a keynote address at the Tokyo Game Show. He's expected to reveal more about the Revolution during this presentation.

that, my friends, is the gayest shit everi'm not downloading and playing bionic commando with that shiti'll just stick to romz0rs
9/15/2005 11:05:53 PM
I would like to see some potential Star Wars applications with this. Light saber duals would be completely awesome if you were actually holding the controller like a light saber.^They may have some kind of adaptor so that you can plug in your old game controllers into the new one. It certainly seems feasible.[Edited on September 15, 2005 at 11:10 PM. Reason : ]
9/15/2005 11:08:35 PM
^^That or just pop in the real Bionic Commando and grapple your way through the game with a real NES.
9/15/2005 11:12:25 PM
the controller looks tinynot everybody has small azn hands!
9/15/2005 11:14:36 PM
Kinda cool how it's similar to the ol' NES controller if you turn it sideways, I guess
