Ive got a netgear wireless adapter and a linksys Wireless G 2.4GHz router. Is there any way I can make it so the connection stops dropping? Somedays it will drop once and other days it will drop 5 times. The only way I know to reconnect is to restart the computer

is it the actual router stopping a signal from being sent or is the adapter just stopping receiving a signal? like if u were to get another computer with wireless, can they get on through the router even when the 1 with the adapter cant?

im pretty sure its the adapter because my computer will drop and the laptop in the other room will still be on (both have same brand/type of adapters)

have you checked for driver updates for your adapter AND firmware updates for your router?[Edited on September 12, 2005 at 1:15 AM. Reason : ]

Try some of the things mentioned in this post: http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=342833&page=1#7364376Also, if there's a 2.4GHz cordless phone anywhere in the area, it could be causing some interference. You could try changing wireless channels to get to a more open frequency.
