my personal opinion i wouldnt buy one of these and didnt, a friend of mine has it and i was trying to hook it up with no luck. I wasnt using the wireless part of it, just connecting through a LAN line cause the DSL modem only has one line. This was hooked up at one point by someone else, but the wireless part never worked for the most part, except the computer that was right near it. I get no status light where there should be one and it says if i dont see it isnt working right(obviously), anyone have this problem and is it correctable? I have one option to try, which i didnt, which was make sure the DSL modem was off before hooking up the wireless router, then turning on the DSL (this is what it informs me to do on the installation guide from D-Link.)This shit isnt that complicated so i guess the router is shit, any help would be good.yes i am trying to use it as a hub rather then a wireless, i am working with what i got and trying not to spend extra money[Edited on September 8, 2005 at 9:07 AM. I've been using one for a year now with absolutely no problems. My wireless works outside my apartment. Sounds like you got a bad one. Have you tried updating the firmware?

HMM MIGHT TRY THAT, I THINK IT IS A BIT OLDER MODEL MAYBE 2 YEARS, IT IS THE DI-524BUT I WOULD EXPECT THAT I WOULD STILL SEE A STATUS LIGHT ON THE ROUTER ITSELF AND JUST NOT A GOOD CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET VIA THE COMPUTER, BUT I WILL TRY THAT TOO

Unplug your DSL modem and wait about five seconds before restoring power. This will reset your IP address. Then try it out. Of course, no status light may mean you have a paper weight. Good luck.

thats what it was, had to turn off teh modem, then hook up the wireless and turn the modem back, however the status light doesnt work, LED is prolly burnt outweird that you have to turnthe modem off, thought they were suppose to be auto sensing?
