Has anybody had problems with a striped RAID set as your system drive that causes the system to hang suddenly?? Meaning it completely freezes everything randomly, including the NUM LOCK etc.

Here is my basic setup:
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Mobo (Recently Replaced)
Intel 2.8E Pentium 4 Processor
2x512 mb Samsung RAM
Cheapass 256mb Chaintech Video Card
400watt Thermaltake Power Supply


I am using the integrated Promise SATA RAID controller with (2) WD 120gig SATA drives. Drivers are all up to date. Still looking around on Google......

What makes you think it is the RAID setup?

It could be another unrelated hardware problem.

ive read about problems people have had with window and RAID sets. yea it could be another hardware problem, i just need ideas.

To troubleshoot this strip the system down to the most basic setup you possibly can.

If it is stable then slowly add components back until the lockups start again.
