Yeah...I'm running Gentoo Linux on my laptop (Inspiron 6000) and I've got this annoying problem. The wireless works fine, driver wise. I can use it in my dorm and I have internet without any trouble, but the moment I try connecting up to nomad, I can't get to the login page.

More precisely, if I do a scan of APs, I pick up the NCSU APs and I can connect to them as usual. I can get an IP address from them, no problems there. But there's no way to get to nomad.ncsu.edu - which is rather essential, obviously. I'm sure it's some minor configuration issue that I'm just too stupid to know about, but it'd be nice to know what I'm doing wrong. Anybody who can help with that, I'd be very happy to hear from ya.

is the correct default gateway added to your routing table? DNS correct?

I'm shooting in the dark here as I've never used Nomad

split: that's what I was thinking - it's probably some sort of DNS issue. I just don't have a damned clue how to solve it, lol.

try manually setting 152.1.1.22 (or any other ncsu dns server) manually to see if that works.
