im assuming that you already have the PIC writing hardware/software?

when i bought the package it came with a free c compiler.

i used PICs alot in senior design...there are TONS of websites and message boards devoted to them. its been a couple years, so i cant remember them off the top of my head, but if you just search around a little bit, you'll find something.

I did some work with a PICMicro chip 2 years ago, but was unable to find a free C compiler. Dunno if that has changed. There are plenty of books available though.
