the desktop image won't show up on the desktop. however, when the windows is shutting down/up, i can see the image i chose flash up on the screen. once windows loads up, the image disappears, but the background color remains.i've tried using different images in different formats, and also the default windows backgrounds. in all instances, only the background color appears.also, under destop properties -> desktop background, the scroll box that lists the various images i can pick from is grayed out. the "browse" tab and the "position" dropbox tab are both greyed out as well. clickly the mouse over these greyed areas does nothing. it seems as though those functions have been locked.help?

hmmm... nope, not really.the only thing i can narrow this down to as far as a cause would be that i had downloaded axis & allies via morpheus. i unzipped the file to my desktop, and installed the game. it seemed to work fine and everything. there were other zipped files within the main zip file that contained white supremicist texts.i don't remember the desktop fucking up immediately after i downloaded this, but i do believe it was all in the same day.

i've had to change some registry shit before because of spyware and shit. i just kinda looked through to see if i saw anythign suspicious.example. there was an entry: hkey_current user - software - microsoft - windows - blah blah... - desktop.htmland there was a file in my system32 folder that was modified at about the time the desktop went to shit called desktop.html and intel32.exe, etc. which i removed.i'm assuming that the desktop.html file was the one causing the issue this thread is about. maybe it was overlayed ontop of my desktop, and i was actually see a webpage or something. i don't know. i'm a novice computer geek.
