...saw a new one last night at Crabtree.......bleh...looks like a Mazda 3. If you see it on the side it's actually not too bad, because it looked stretched. But from the back, blah. Your thoughts? Mike

can't be any worse than the new Jetta, which looks like a combination of a Mazda 3 and a Corolla

Drove a 330 one at the Komen race for the cure thingy at the dealership down here. Feels more like the e39 528 than what a 3 series should be. Nice, but nothing special.Since people will probably flame that short description - here's more: it's larger, feels more disconnected than any other 3 series I've been in, the flatter dash feels more 5 series like, the space inside feels about the same if not larger than my e39 540 (slightly narrower but taller and longer) - you can't really notice the new engine - it's typical bmw 6 cylinder smoothness. The new 3 series has been butchered by BMW. The side panels of the body are flat and plain, and the back lights make the car look anonymous, and somewhat like a Kia or another Korean. The previous 3 series, when you looked at the back, you knew it was a BMW, but this new one is so anonymous, that if you covered the whole body and cut holes to expose the tail lights, a lot of people wouldn't be able to tell it was a BMW. Could be just another 10-15 K Korean or Japanese car.But then again, a lot of cars seem to be headed that way. New generations of MBs, Lexuses, Audis, etc. It is a damn shame.

Yeah, but seriously though - I saw another one today, this time in black (as opposed to white) and from the front it looked half decent, but damn those taillights and rear panels. Mike
