Inspiron 6000. The touchpad doesn't scroll left to right but does scroll up and down. Yes i tried it when there was an actual need to scroll left to right. I got the laptop last week. There are no new drivers to dl...the latest one came along in May. Is there a setting i'm not selecting?

make sure you have the latest drivers for the touchpad. it's possible that windows is either using generic touchpad/human interface drivers or buggy drivers that shipped with your laptop. if your computer is out of warranty and your touchpad is actually broken in some way... get a usb mouse with a tilt wheel. it'll be cheaper than repairing the touchpad if out of warranty.

Have you tried scrolling with both firebox and IE?

Hmm...no to my knowledge i've only tried scrolling with Firefox. Maybe it'll work with IE?But yeh i did just get the computer last week. So where would i dl the drivers if Dell didn't put them on there?
