I'll be there. I hadn't heard about it until today on the radio.
8/13/2005 4:26:23 PM
oh noesrain
8/13/2005 5:25:41 PM
The stands are covered. And rain would make for some nice lonnnnnng heats. Mucho fun yo.
8/13/2005 5:47:07 PM
i went out there for a while, stayed for the first two heats. i dont know if it was the gay announcer, the rednecks, the teenage pussy, but i had enough. XDDL needs to work on their production some, and get some god damn airhorns instead of little flagsalso, properly wetting the track early on makes for slower qualifying heats and leaving it dry later makes for a better finale and now i know why chrysler imperials are banned from all other derbies. that red one in the first heat didnt flinch
8/13/2005 9:45:37 PM
you sure it was an imperial? their rules dictate they're not allowed. oh, and what's wrong with teens?
8/13/2005 9:51:18 PM
nothing wrong with the teen babydolls, except i cant touchand yeah it was an imp[Edited on August 13, 2005 at 10:01 PM. Reason : it also looked to be lifted]

The imperial didn't end up winning. It snapped a rim off. The 2 station wagons from PA #200 and #201 ended up winning. The event was pretty sad really. There were only 16 cars and it took just over 3 hours! Yeah, I thought the same thing about air horns. Also waving a green flag to stop didn't seem to bright to me either.
8/13/2005 11:21:24 PM
what kinda wagons were they? probably 70's chevy's i'd guess, those things are beasts. one put a huge hurtin on everyone at the fair derby last year, especially our buick sedan (and pwnt ) i saw a few cars being trailered down hillsborough st. earlier tonight. that's sweet they let an imperial run, check the rules it says no imperials or lebarons. sure it wasn't a newport or fury? they're pretty similar in body, just not in frame/subframe. coulda been a post 73 imperial also i guess. it's a shame it wasn't a bigger event, judging from the website it should be much better than the series that comes to the fair. much bigger payouts and much better rules. i like that they have a 80 and up class too, most of the big cars from the 80's are at a big disadvantage to big cars from the 60's/70's in strength and horsepower.[Edited on August 14, 2005 at 1:34 AM. 8/14/2005 2:40:08 AM
that's kick ass. need to get the rules changed for the fair derby, i happen to know where a solid 71 imperial is for cheap.
