Has anyone used one of these for hooking up a MP3 player or other device to their car stereo?

Is this really similar enough to ^ to work properly? I haven't actually gone to the store yet, but do they sell this one at radio shack?

Assuming that it fits the stero in your car, there shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't work. If you're going to go through that much trouble, you should mount the RCA inputs directly on your dash with a nice face plate or something. It won't look quiet to ghetto rigged that way.

I like the face place idea. I might have to try something along those lines. My head unit doesn't have RCA inputs on the rear of it, so this is just the next best thing that looks like it will work. I just want to know if the knock off is the way to go or should I get the name brand and shell out a few more bucks.
