I had read about these on a NAMM '05 review a while back, and I was pretty glad to see Boss getting some competition, it seemed like their effects boxes were a little overpriced. I have been thinking about getting a noise reducer (my juno's chorus is noisy), so I went to behringer site and saw the price and was shocked. It has the standard single effect boxes list price $30 (meaning they'll probably be $20 from a distributer), and a multi effects box listed $35 (distributer price $25). I'm kind of wondering, what's the catch? I don't think they've come out yet, but do you think they are just made cheaper than the Boss pedals?pics:[Edited on August 4, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Reason : ]

I guarantee you they're made cheaper than the Roland stuff, but that doesn't mean they're bad. Looks like the case will be plastic, for one.

It's tough to tell if it will be plastic or metal since the picture's computer generated. But I don't really care what they're made out of as long as they still sound like the boss pedals.

My bet is the casing won't be tank-like, but I think quality will be very similar (sound wise).I have already been pleasantly surprised at how good Berhinger stuff was.

^^ The biggest question that brings up is shielding.

the catch is behringer copies everything they make and build it like crap. cost effective i guess

i guess it depends. for what you would be using a noise reducer for it might not make a difference. for me, the Boss NS2 was the only one out there that worked the way i wanted it to, which i guess is why they charge so much. other ones cut out my sustain, or wouldnt let me get harmonics/pinch harmonics. even the boss noisegate wasnt very good. but the noise supressor cuts out all my feedback when wanted without hardly affecting my sound at all. something i didnt find in anything else i tried

I mean, Kias will get where you want to go for the most part.
