8/2/2005 3:10:25 PM
oh goody, i thought this was gonna sink like a rock.Woodfoot- mayhaps we need an ***Official Bands to Watch*** thread?[Edited on August 2, 2005 at 4:54 PM. Reason : kinky]
8/2/2005 4:53:53 PM
HEY OSKARPERHAPS THIS CAN BE THAT THREADHERE IN ENTERTAINMENT, WE DON'T NEED ALL THAT "**OFFICIAL**" BSthats why the willy wonka thread is the same one we used to disucss the initial shots of johnny deppandthe star wars thread is the one we used since the trailer came out(same thing goes for the fantastic 4 thread i think)and the batman begins one has been around since they were shooting the movieplus, we've already got an x-men-3 threadand i think we have one for the superman psmy band to watch is http://www.circasurvive.comthey've only existed like 7 months, and they're already playing the big tours and doing some really big showsTHEY'RE GOING FAR

hahahahi have like a man crush on anthony greenno liewhen i met him last month, i was like a little girlhe was standing on the other side of a big window wall, and i was trying to get the girl i was with to go out and ask if he was himshe kinda looked at me funny
8/2/2005 5:27:10 PM
oh, and if this is going to be official, i think we need some basic requirements:1. brief description of band's sound. that way, if the band is heavily influenced by metallica, i know not to bother listening to them2. link to mp3, or embedded track (no auto starts!). i can't like them if i can't listen to them.thank you.

Lovedrughttp://www.purevolume.com/lovedrughttp://www.lovedrugmusic.comsorta muse-ish, sorta coldplay-ish, sorta old radiohead-ish, just really fucking good. the more i listen to the cd the more i keep wanting to hear it more.their live show is very good too. if you can see them headline somewhere, do it.they headlined the brewery a few months ago to a pretty empty house, but still put on a very good show.
8/5/2005 1:21:20 PM
but are they as good as LoveBurger

oblivious action figureshard to describe, kind of tongue in cheek rock, some occassional groove with a hard edge. they were at the pour house about a month ago. they're kind of silly, but surprisingly good.http://www.oafrock.com/

Wolf Parade:"Found" by Isaac guy of Modest Mouse, and they kinda remind me of The Arcade Fire.I'm totally diggin em. http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/artist.cfm?Band_Id=11211]

Wolf Parade debut album is pretty awesome. It doesnt come out until October I think but its been online for a while now. I actually prefer their live versions of songs (especially This Heart's On Fire.)
9/13/2005 2:39:44 AM
Their EP is on iTunes and well worth the 3.96 to buy it
9/13/2005 8:06:20 AM
i like that new wolf parade but i thought a lot of the songs sounded better on the EP before isaac messed with them1 or 2 did make improvements though

I'm gonna plug my friends' band hereStay Tunedhttp://www.staytunedtheband.comBased in Seattle, the trio performs tributes to TV theme songs. Every song is recomposed by the group, performed with drums, bass, and keyboard/organ. They just released a CD recently that is getting good local reviews in Seattle. As for sound, they mix rock, reggae, punk, jazz, funk, rockabilly, and a number of other sounds, depending on the song. A lot of people here are probably too young to appreciate some of the tunes though..- Charles In Charge (awesome "guitar" solo performed with a keyboard)http://cdbaby.com/mp3lofi/staytuned-07.m3u- Rawhidehttp://cdbaby.com/mp3hifi/staytuned-05.m3u
