Heh I had a conversation the other day about just that sort of thing. The conversation ended along the lines of "You notice that the church went on and on about Dungeons & Dragons, beating its so called satanic relations down everyone's throats, but now you don't hear a damn thing about it, and the game is not only still around, but being sold at Barnes & Noble and Borders."

that's not really true... mana is used in many things other than RPGs (ie Magic the Gathering)

there used to be a group of kids that would play D&D in the Bowen lounge in the 03-04 year. i never played at school though.

as far as pointers, pick which rules you want to play and go to a bookstore (or ebay or something) and buy some books. or just do some research online. you can probably find a sample dungeon to practice with.

Thanks. I actually already have the Player's and DM Guides for ver3.5, and downloaded the Monster's Manual off of eMule in pdf format. I was just looking for a more personal take on things people normally do when playing.
