I just know sombody out there wants to play some old school Street Fighter, and they surely need someone to fight. It's got every incarnation since the original Street Fighter 2 all the way through Alpha 3. C'mon, Street Fighter fans! I need some competition!(I'm sorely tempted to see how much they'd sell the machine for so I can put it beside my Neo Geo MVS.)

Was there ever a Street Fighter 1?
7/28/2005 10:01:42 PM
noob
7/28/2005 10:06:41 PM
^^Yes there was. You could only play as Ken or Ryu, the moves were damn near impossible to perform, and the graphics were crap. It was released as Fighting Street on the Turbo Grafx-16.
7/28/2005 10:20:57 PM
Hence, why I've never played it. SFII and its many variants were the heat, though.Hundred-Hand Slap, bitch!
7/28/2005 10:21:57 PM
There were so many different versions. Super Street Fighter II Alpha Bravo Championship Edition Turbo or something. I was happy with the original.
7/28/2005 11:25:39 PM
I don't understand why they made so many versions of II. Each new version should have just been a new number. Championship Edition is the one I'm most familiar with.

Street Fighter II - Red X Edition
7/29/2005 12:09:43 AM
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting is probably the best 2D fighter ever made.My cousin has an arcade machine that can switch between standard Championship Edition and one with crazy Dragon Punch range, seeking projectiles, and the ability to change characters during the match by pressing the player start/select button. It's the heat.
7/29/2005 12:47:28 AM
the arcade in my hometown had sf1 . . . i think it wasit had two huge buttons, punch and kick, that you had to actually pound with your fist to press. after one round, your fists would be sore as hell.
7/29/2005 12:59:37 AM
i guarantee i can beat anyone by just jamming buttons

The one I remember playing actually had the usual 6 button configuration from SFII. I would usually get to England or China and get beat by either the giant punk guy with the mohawk in England or the old man in China. The first guy in China was easy (Lee I think his name was). I don't think he ever bothered to block a low attack.
7/29/2005 7:28:07 AM
I'm partial to Killer Instinct. I could rail on some bitches with Orchid.
7/29/2005 9:23:05 AM
I have seen an original Street Fighter machine a grand total of one time. VERY rare. It was a huge leap from SF to SF2, as the control scheme was drastically improved, response time was shortened, and the FPS count also jumped way up. It was damn near impossible to ever perform any of Ryu's or Ken's trademark moves - especially the Shouryuken. Gen, Birdie, Adon, and Sagat also first appeared in it.Less talking, more fighting! Somebody bring it!
7/29/2005 10:34:31 AM
the Putt-Putt where I grew up in Greenville, SC, actually had an original Street Fighter machine with analog controls that was in fairly good playable condition. And then it stayed in fairly good condition because as soon as SFII came out, no one ever played it anymore.

Super is crap. The new characters were boring and they fucked up Chun-Li's fireball from Turbo.
7/29/2005 11:17:12 AM
bullshitchun lis fireball was fine. give her a ken/ryu fireball and youve got an overpowered chinawoman.super was super bc of Kens multiple hit fire shoryuken
7/29/2005 12:34:42 PM
Super SFII was OK, at best. The announcer sucked. I did like the "new" music, though. And the intro was pretty nifty.
7/29/2005 12:50:51 PM
I will take all comerspersonally, i think the Soul Caliburs are my favorite of all time, but Street Fighter is either 2 or 3 (with DOA).
7/29/2005 2:05:55 PM
What what? Do we have a challenger? When ya wanna meet out there?
7/29/2005 2:14:17 PM
I always liked the Alpha series best. Alpha2 is probably my favorite SF game.SF3 third strike was a lot of fun too. Was great to have chunli back
7/29/2005 2:15:31 PM
Well come on, then, fellow SFA2 fan! I'll be happy to play you in any SF you like. Please note that I'm not trying to come across as arrogant nor will I ever talk any shit - I just simply really enjoy Street Fighter and have missed the fun and competition and I want someone to play against once again.
7/29/2005 2:19:26 PM
I have looked on tons of sites for the codes to do moves with these guys. If someone could put a list of the moves up that would be great, especially Dhalsims stuff....I cant find working codes anywhere and Im sure some of u know themon Super NES by the way

7/29/2005 5:41:56 PM
All this time, and I've only had one person as decent competition so far... C'mon, I know someone else out there is playing this machine.
8/5/2005 4:31:12 PM
do they still have Third Strike out there?
8/8/2005 9:54:06 AM
Sure do, right beside the Anniversary machine.
8/8/2005 1:29:05 PM

8/8/2005 5:28:34 PM

8/8/2005 8:51:24 PM
After the Capcom logo disappears on the opening credits, press Down, R, Up, L, Y, B on controller 2 Mega Turbo After the ''Licensed by Nintendo'' logo fades away, press Down, R, Up, L, Y, B. No Special Moves On the Stage Select screen, press DOWN, R, UP, L, Y, and B on Controller 2. Press Y and B to Toggle Special Skills on and off. Toggle Special Skills On/Off (V.S . Battle) That's for SFII Turbo. The same code will let two players pick the same character on SFII.
8/8/2005 11:02:34 PM
The one time I saw a Street Fighter machine was in like 1995.
8/8/2005 11:12:50 PM
So much talk, so little action. C'mon, somebody step up and challenge me. I flat out ran some shit the other night, and I haven't enjoyed that feeling in years. It was a very good sensation.
8/9/2005 2:42:00 AM
if i get some time this weekend, i'd like to go out there and play you. all that i ever get out there are scrubs. the alpha series is probably what i'm weakest at though.you got a neo geo, you like samurai shodown?i should know what i'm doing this weekend in a couple days, i'll pm you and let you know.does anyone else want to come? we could have a ghey-ass tww tournament or something. the girls will FLOCK.
8/9/2005 2:33:14 PM
I'll play you. It's been a while since I've had a decent challenge lol. All my suitemates where Nintendo guys and never really played SF, WTF? I've gotta get back in arcade mode, I've spent the last couple months beasting ppl at SF Anniversary Collection on PS2. I actually prefer the six button setup, but I can even do 3 buttons b/c I had a Genesis with the standard controllers (who remembers that lol, having to use start to change between kick and punch). I'll be back in Raleigh on Saturday. Let me know. It'll be fun to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Shin Sho-Ryu-Ken, Let's Go!
8/9/2005 3:10:23 PM
Outstanding! I'm down for a meet on Saturday evening. Let's say around maybe 6:00 or so? Let me know, and bring as many as you can.^^ Hell yes, I'd rank Samurai Shodown and The King of Fighters as tied for second place of my all-time favorite fighting game series. I have SS 3 and SS4, as well as KOF '94, '95, and '96 in my Neo Geo. I was once the King of Fighters '95 tournament champion at the Starcade on Hillsborough many years ago. Ah, I miss those days.^ Yeah, the controls on this machine take some getting used to. I bought a MAS stick a few years back for my Dreamcast and PC, but I took it apart and replaced the stick and buttons with some extremely precise controls. I've become so used to their touch that I've really had to "relearn" how to use the machine at the mall. I also remember the days of the 3-button Genesis controller.
8/9/2005 4:36:43 PM
so yall are meeting out at crabtree?? i would show up but that's like 5$ in gas plus 50 cents(porbaly alli'll nedd . i think i'm actually better w/ a snes/ps2 controller it's been like 11ty billion yrs since i've played the shit in the arcade, if yall get a tounrney goin at some1's crib let me know.
8/9/2005 7:02:01 PM
Yeah, I'd love to organize a BIG tournament for some cash prizes. But as it stands, I just want to play some SFA2 in the arcade.
8/9/2005 11:14:11 PM
i can't do it saturday night... make it during the afternoon and i'm there!
8/10/2005 12:25:36 AM
Well, the afternoon is a no-go for me. I'm going to the gun show with my dad.Any old evening works just fine, though. Just gimme a short notice and I can be there since I live almost right beside Crabtree.
