New movie coming out in a few weeks directed by Matthew Vaughn, the guy who produced Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. As far as I can tell, it's about drugs, money, and poon tang. Looks pretty bitchin'. Thoughts?

HOW DO THESE MOVIES GO SO LONG WITHOUT A THREAD?
5/22/2005 8:49:11 PM
THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION WOODFOOT AND ONE DESERVED OF AN ANSWER IN CAPSLOCKKERY.

5/22/2005 10:47:39 PM
I notice that the "A" is written with a "4"
5/22/2005 11:08:03 PM
i watched it again last night.good fuckin' movie.
5/28/2005 9:35:21 AM
i saw this last weekend and enjoyed it. tried to go last month at tribeca film festival, but it sold out too fast. ending was lame, but overall good movie. i don't understand why so many online trailers show the girl all laced up so often. she's such a small part of the film.[Edited on May 28, 2005 at 12:55 PM. 5/28/2005 12:54:45 PM
^ you don't understand that??
5/28/2005 12:58:45 PM
i understand that sex sells, but it doesn't happen in the movie.
5/28/2005 5:56:35 PM
i was cool with the ending.if for nothing else than the fact that it precludes a sequel from ever being made to ruin the original.
5/28/2005 9:53:13 PM
is there anywhere to see this in the triangle?
5/28/2005 10:44:39 PM
It's opening at Galaxy Cinema on Friday, showtimes at 1:00, 3:05, 5:10, 7:20, and 9:30.
5/28/2005 10:55:36 PM
next friday right? in june
5/29/2005 12:47:45 AM
I loved Lock, Stock and Two Smoking BarrelsAnd I loved SnatchBut they were the same plot with some minor changes and different characters. This isn't the same movie for a third time, is it?
5/29/2005 12:50:57 AM
This coming Friday, June 3, 2005.
5/29/2005 1:01:14 AM
Aiight people, I will personally beat the asses of anybody who doesn't come out to see it this weekend.
6/2/2005 11:53:43 AM
This movie rocks and I am now a Daniel Craig fan
6/2/2005 12:00:53 PM
it makes me sad he isn't doing x3
6/2/2005 12:08:14 PM
Yeah, it's strange. I wish there was more information, but the best I can tell is he basically just freaked out.
6/2/2005 12:22:19 PM
who was he supposed to be?
6/2/2005 12:29:25 PM
Not Daniel Craig, Matthew Vaughn. He was slated to direct X3, which was sort of a surprise choice, but the other day he bailed with production scheduled to begin next month.Quoth Vaughn, "My bad!"
6/2/2005 12:31:12 PM
fuck itbring in guy ritchie
6/2/2005 12:34:22 PM
Starring Madonna as Kabballah Girl with the power to look stupid next to anybody but scientologists.
6/2/2005 11:29:23 PM
I just watched it. A fun movie. Very exciting - it keeps your attention. Watch those details, though. Layer Cake becomes a bit confusing at times.
6/3/2005 2:08:02 AM
Also listen carefully. Then accents'll getcha!
6/3/2005 2:46:45 AM
Good point. Crazy Brits!
6/3/2005 4:42:07 AM
Also, yeah, Sienna Miller is only in the movie for like 10 minutes but she's naked for part of it so it's all good.
6/3/2005 4:35:38 PM
I was expecting a thread about cake
6/3/2005 4:36:23 PM
Cake is okay, but if you come see the film at Galaxy I'll give you a half-priced cookie.
6/3/2005 8:36:15 PM
so TWWers get the employee discount now?whoa
6/3/2005 10:04:43 PM
Not twwers, just Nerdchick.
6/3/2005 10:12:36 PM
thank god this director isn't cashing in his talent on x3. for a novice, it was an excellent film on his part...a lot of the movement/editing effects seemed to come directly from the guy richie line, but the film came as more sincere in content than snatch and lock stock. there was moral. it wasn't just a longer version of a good music video.
6/4/2005 2:40:50 AM
i saw it at rialto tonight and i thought it was only decent at best. The movie was trying to be too sleek and smart for its britches at times. *spoilers*And it shoulda ended with the drug deal getting fucked - fin. Not his ass on the pavement, shot.
6/4/2005 3:01:14 AM
Tee hee! You said britches.
6/4/2005 4:46:21 PM

6/7/2005 4:23:06 PM
ill have to check this out
6/7/2005 4:25:45 PM
it's a fun movie. i recommend it to anyone who likes mob movies and clever cinematography. the guy richie influence is there, but not entirely so. this is certainly something different.
6/8/2005 12:21:52 AM
^not really. all of what they did is quite common for indy films. Nothing about the film was particularly groudbreaking -- it was just a well put together presentation of the familiar.
6/8/2005 12:36:19 AM
^nod. i do think the script was an easier follow than lock stock. it was less complicated, and i don't mean that to comment on the vernacular. it seemed more realistic, or at least as realistic as these movies can seem.
6/8/2005 12:40:06 AM
worst ending everi liked the movie except for thatthat and the teasing that was sienna milleri totally figured out that the star trek dude killed that other dude and put him in his freezer
6/8/2005 2:49:45 PM
^did you pick up the part where he also fixed the warp engines?
6/12/2005 11:55:32 PM
I enjoyed this moviei'd go see it again
