I don't think the number of posts would be grounds for a "lurker" label. I think it would be more along the lines of: a person registers, and constantly logs on without posting. But then again, there's no rule that says you have to post. They could just be checking out the Classifieds from time to time to see if anything is for sale.Funny concept, but I doubt Jake/Joe would ever start it.[Edited on December 14, 2001 at 11:39 PM. i'd say assuming you log in often enough after 1 month, if you have under 50 posts, your status name becomes "lurker" and after that, as long as your post rate is under i'd say 50 posts/month you retain that label...-I can smell your brains

^^^^ no i dont like that idea b/c i know plenty of people that have been here for well over a yr and have about 200 posts.....it is possible to have that low of a post count and be here that long....its called a life

Wait Ms. 12000 posts, how do you know what a life is???
12/15/2001 12:33:49 AM
holy crap I didnt realize she had THAT MANY posts!!

i have a life......strange as it might sound......i actually obtained most of those posts during the summer when i wasnt working and had nothing else to do all day

She's still posting more rapidly than a lot of us. I mean, you hit 10,000 this school year and now you're at 12,000. It took me almost a year to hit 2,000 posts.

By that definition, though, these people would be lurkers, based on the number of posts they've made recently, and the amount of time they spend (at least, as it appears to me) on the board: Jake, Joe, Jennifer, Craig. I don't doubt that they help this board in other ways, though...

Good idea except that nobody will ever see their label except in the users and photo pages. If they post less than 10 times in the last 2 months, they should be lurkers. And automatically a lurker if they dont post any the first 3 days they register. Label taken off when they break the 10 posts.Kev4Pack

well there could be like a section called: lurkers...and if you get a weird IM, you can search the lurker directory and find out who it is

the lurker section would be bigger than the normal section. An AIM name search would be better.
