in the classified section, it might be nice to have an option for the person to be able to tag their message as something other than "new" or "old"...

for example, once the person has sold their mr. t head chia-pet, they could tag the message as "sold!".

or once they find a peron to live in their smokers only/vegan apartment, the could put a tag that says something like "found!".

and once these tags are utilized by the person that started the thread, perhaps it could lock the thread or something in order to keep morons like me from continuing to pine after somethig i don't know if is still for sale or not.

the solution to this would probably be to create more of a classifieds module for TWW instead of making it just a message board section. there is a ton of other functionality that we could add also.

well, if somethig like this was available, a little thought by the person who created the thread would of course be necessary. instead of closing the thread after one thing was sold, they could periodically update the list of things that they had for sale, or that they were looking for, etc. i've seen people do this before in threads.

the main downfall of this idea is indeed the dependence on the thread's creator to be a little less lazy than usual, but i still think that if something like this were available, many people would make use of it.

or jake could assign moderators to the classified ads, and those mods go ahead and delete those threads or lock them once they've been sold.
