For topics that are added to "My Topics" it would be nice to be notified via e-mail when they are replied to so that we do not have to keep refreshing and taking up unneccessary bandwidth that you pay for.

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but it's a nice feature that most boards have.

assuming you subscribed to only three moderately popular threads, you would get ~290 emails in your box within an afternoon.

not to mention the bandwidth TWW would consume sending 290 emails times the number of people who subscribed to those threads.

i believe a year or so ago..maybe more..TWW did exactly that..and it was a pain in the ass. Anytime I subscribed to something...I had emails overflowing my webmail.

True, I guess I was thinking more of classifieds and study hall threads than the other sections because it'd be nice to know when you're being outbid or when someone has posted some help for one of your homework assignments.

I don't think it's such a bad idea, seeing as how larger boards have it as a universal feature, meaning no matter which package powers the board, Invision, phpBB, vBulletin, etc., it's a feature in all of them.

However, I see how it could get bad with threads in the other sections.

Maybe it could be an option to have it on for certain threads to which one is subscribed and have it off for others.

there's a significant difference between those shit-ass EZboard clones and CrazyWeb.

TWW doesn't suck. ergo, it is not feasible to send an email on each reply.

Yeah, you're right about that. It seems like of all the message boards that I post on (which isn't many, but I also lurk on a few), TWW is by far the easiest to navigate.
